I remember that day
When we parted at the gate
The gate we crossed together every day
For those long years at Victoria
Hoping to meet again.

You came for me that day
To say good-bye
I wished to stay
But for the tour I hurried.

And how can I forget
The day you left for the training
With 'Futility' and that note of 'paradox'
I gave you.

You enjoyed reading both
I thought you might realize
And come back.

So you came back
Cold
'Covered up'
They fired
Fuming futile salutes
I stood lost.
